Challenge
-
In an effort to provide accurate and transparent information to the public regarding environmental conditions, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, through the Directorate of Air Pollution Control in the Directorate General of Environmental Quality Management (Ditjen PPKL), has taken a significant step by establishing a continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring System (AQMS).
-
AQMS supports policies and decision-making by relevant authorities related to air pollution control. The data generated by this system serves as the basis for designing emission reduction strategies, evaluating the effectiveness of mitigation measures taken, and identifying areas or sectors that require further attention in achieving better air quality standards.
-
The KLHK Air Quality Monitoring System assists the government in identifying areas with high pollution levels, evaluating the effectiveness of existing environmental policies, and planning more efficient air pollution control measures.

Schematic AQMS

Schematic AQMS
AQMS consists of several main parts :
1. Data Collecting
Installed sensors will continuously measure air quality in their respective regions. The generated data will be collected automatically and stored in a data logger.
2. Data Transmission to the Server
The data collected from the sensors will be securely transmitted to a server via the internet connection. This server is responsible for managing and analyzing data from all monitoring areas.
3. Data Processing and Analysis
The data received by the server will be processed and analyzed to provide information about air pollution levels in various regions.
4.Data Presentation
The results of data analysis will be presented in a format that is easily understandable to the general public. This air quality data will be accessible through the official KLHK website or application, allowing the public to access it in real-time.
